About Hanns Jelinek

Hanns Jelinek (December 5, 1901 – January 27, 1969) was an Austrian composer of Czech descent. Jelinek studied briefly with Arnold Schoenberg and Alban Berg, an experience that influenced him to write many works in the twelve-tone technique. Then, he studied music on his own; from 1958 lecturer and from 1965 professor at the Vienna Academy of Music. 1966 awarded the Grand Austrian State Prize. Jelinek was born and died in Vienna.
