About Gregor Schreyer

Gregor Schreyer (1719–1767) was a Benedictine monk associated with Andechs Abbey, active as a music teacher and choir regent within monastic musical life. He is linked in Andechs’ own institutional history to the monastery’s major 300-year anniversary celebrations in 1755, for which he composed eight masses. Among the surviving works that can be checked in open sources are his Sacrificium Vespertinum (Op. 3), printed in Augsburg in 1766 and preserved in a digitised copy at the Badische Landesbibliothek Karlsruhe
