
Greg Trooper (January 13, 1956 - January 15, 2017) was a singer-songwriter, whose songs have been recorded by many artists, including Steve Earle, Billy Bragg and Vince Gill. Trooper was born in Neptune Township, New Jersey, and raised in nearby Little Silver. As a teenager in the early 1970s, Greg Trooper would frequent the folk clubs of Greenwich Village taking in the burgeoning singer/songwriter and blues scene.
