
Giovanni Spataro (c1458 - 1541) was an Italian theorist and composer. Maestro di cappellaat S. Petronio in Bologna from 1512, he was a disciple of the theorist Ramos de Pareja, whom he defended in his quarrel with Gafori. He carried on much correspondence dealing with theoretical matters, and composed a great deal of church music.
