About Ginger Tunes
Ginger Tunes is Mike Smith new quartet project. Ginger tunes are a funky Liverpool based quartet lead by saxophonist Mike Smith. Musically promiscuous and proudly Ginger, the band specialize in all things groovy with their roots firmly embedded in the jazz tradition, but with a scouse twist. Having started to play at the age of 12 so that he could escape Maths lessons on a Tuesday, Mike graduated from LIPA and went on to form his quartet in 2009 and they have being playing together in jazz clubs and festivals ever since.
