About Gerald Moore

Gerald Moore CBE (30 July 1899 – 13 March 1987) was an English pianist best known as one of the most in-demand accompanists of his day, accompanying many of the world's most famous musicians. During the course of his career Moore was largely responsible for raising the profile of the accompanist as a musician and partner in performance. The list of his regular collaborators reads like a Who's Who of classical music in the mid 20th Century, but his most famous collaborations were with singers, particularly accompanying art song (lieder).
