About George Neikrug
George Neikrug (New York City, NY, USA, 7 March 1919 - 8 March 2019) was an American cellist and string pedagogue. He was a pupil of the legendary Emanuel Feuermann. At age 24, he met pedagogue D.C. Dounis, whose revolutionary approach spurred him to revamp his playing. He worked with Dounis for fifteen years and became the principal exponent of the Dounis Method.
