There is more than one act using the name "General Strike". 1. General Strike was a project of frequent collaborators David Toop and Steve Beresford, who also played together in Alterations and The Flying Lizards. As General Strike they composed music informed by dub, film music, free jazz (including a handful of Sun Ra covers) and Ryuichi Sakamoto-esque neo-classicism. They released a single cassette album, Danger in Paradise, on the Touch Records label in 1984.
