About Gene Wyatt
Gene (Preston Eugene) Wyatt was born in Lake Village, Arkansas. His parents, the Arby Lee Wyatts, returned to Marthaville, Louisiana when Gene was about a year old. Music was his divine gift. Untutored, he became an accomplished guitar player and singer. He honed his art by playing and singing in the Wyatt's church as a child. One of the first personal appearances was at the Louisiana Hayride in 1957. He was lead guitar with the David Houston band and served as their opening act.
