About Garry Shannon
The eldest of a celebrated musical family which includes accordionist Sharon Shannon and Mary Shannon of The Bumblebees. Garry's music has been very influential on the Irish Trad scene in general and Flute players in particular. Over two decades,Garry has travelled through Europe, the Soviet Union, the United States and Australia. Himself a senior all-Ireland winner in '88, he is a teacher and many of the current crop of youngsters - soloists and groups - bear his unmistakable stamp.
