He grew up in the Appalachian foothills of West Georgia , listening to his parents' rock and roll band and singing along with the records of great artists like Don Henley, Jackson Browne, Bob Seager, and Bruce Springsteen. The day he picked up a guitar and strummed it, he knew he'd found his instrument.
