About Fredi Walker
Fredi Walker is an American actress, director and theatre producer. Her Broadway debut was the role of Joanne Jefferson, the high-class lawyer and lesbian lover of Maureen Johnson (Idina Menzel), in the original Broadway cast of Rent. She also toured nationally with The Lion King as Rafiki. She decided not to reprise her role of Joanne in the motion picture adaptation of Rent because of her age, and was replaced by Tracie Thoms. She is the founder and president of Big Spoon Productions.
