Working with the Australian peacekeeping forces in Bougainville, Solomon Islands, he helped write and record an album of peace songs in the local dialect. Returning to Australia, he released his second album, Bagarap Empires. After years of folk festivals and another tour of Bougainville, he released another album of songs about peace and war, Independence Park.
