
About Frantisek Benda
František Benda (Nov.22, 1709 Staré Benátky, Bohemia - Mar.7, 1786 Potsdam) was Czech composer and violinist of early classicist era. F.Benda dabbled in the musical life in Northern Germany as a member of the famous musical Benda family from Staré Benátky. During his studies, he earned a living as a vocalist and violinist in Prague and Dresden. He was later accepted into an aristocratic orchestra, and even became the concertmaster for the orchestra of the Prussian king Friedrich II.
