
Sweden’s most prominent cellist, Frans Helmersson, was born in Falköping. Apart from his international solo performances and guest appearances he is also a conductor and professor at the Cologne Academy of Music. He has performed with many of the world’s greatest conductors, such as Neeme Järvi, Jevgenij Svetlanov, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Herbert Blomstedt and Mstislav Rostropovitj.
