In 2015, Alex Anderson (drummer of Woodinville sludge metal project Darkmysticwoods) decided it was time for a change of pace. They started writing material based on their love for music like AJJ, Joyce Manor, and Bomb The Music Industry!, combining a confessional and heartbreaking lyrical style with the punk stylings of their teenage years. They began playing as Floral Tattoo, naming themselves after a Spotify playlist of a friend's. After leaving the Seattle area and moving to Chico
