About Eighty Mile Beach
The electronic duo Eighty Mile Beach comprised vocalist Beth Custer, previously a longtime member of San Francisco's Club Foot Orchestra, and DJ Christian Jones. Their debut LP Inclement Weather appeared in 1998. Eighty Mile Beach are a melding of two worlds: Custer's poetic lyricism and clarinetistry with Jones' rhythmic, beat-influenced grooves. Together they make organic primordial music influenced by everything from jazz improvisation to the rhythms of modern electronic dance.
