About Edguy
Edguy is a German power metal band formed in 1992 in Fulda by Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dominik Storch, and Dirk Sauer. The band took its name from a nickname derived from their mathematics teacher. After early rejections from record labels, Edguy independently released their first album, "Savage Poetry", in 1995. Broader recognition followed with subsequent releases such as "Kingdom of Madness" (1997) and "Vain Glory Opera" (1998), the latter of which featured guest contributions from established musicians within the metal genre.
