1)What Eddy Arnold was for RCA in his Hillbilly days was Eddie Kirk for Capitol. However, Eddie wasn't that successful as Eddy. Maybe the reason was that Arnold started a fcouple of years sooner. Eddy was in Nashville and Eddie was in Hollywood. Kirk had employed fine steel guitarists including Speedy West plus occasionally Jimmy Bryant on electric guitar as well as session specialists like Harold Hensley on fiddle and Billy Liebert on accordion.
