There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Echtra is a black metal/ritual ambient project taken form in 2002 in Olympia, WA, United States. Echtra was initiated in order to use sound in furthering spiritual practice and to create a deeper sense of connectedness with the Earth. "The hero's journey par excellence, Echtra represents the transition between this world and the others. A seed, carried as close to one's heart as spatiality will allow, germinates rebirth and a nomadic wandering no longer bound.
