Douglas Irwin is an economist who specializes in studying international trade. He is the Robert E. Maxwell Professor of Arts and Sciences at Dartmouth College. He has also taught at the University of Chicago and MIT. He has served in the President's Council of Economic Advisers and the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors as well as been a member of the American Economic Association, the Economic History Association, and the Cliometrics Society.
