He has published in numerous journals such as as the American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics as well as with the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Gokhale served as a U.S. Department of Treasury in 2002 and as a visiting scholar with the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute in 2003.
