About Dorus

Antoon (Tom) Manders (The Hague, 24 October 1921 - Utrecht, 26 February 1972) was a Dutch artist, comedian and cabaret performer. In his later role he was particularly known as Dorus. From 1953 Manders became involved in the organization and programming of Carel Kamlag's revue-café Saint-Germain-des-Prés at the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. Manders then preformed as an entertainer and would develop into the vagabond Dorus. When he received the invitation of the Vara (Dutch Broadcasting company) to do something for TV
