About Dissection
There are multiple bands known by the name Dissection, originating from various countries and representing different styles within the metal genre: 1. Dissection was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in 1989 in Strömstad by guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Jon Nödtveidt and bassist Peter Palmdahl. The band released two influential albums, "The Somberlain" (1993) and "Storm of the Light's Bane" (1995), before disbanding in 1997 following Nödtveidt's imprisonment for complicity in a murder.
