William began making sample-based slushwave in 2018 as desert sand feels warm at night, although, before that, William had been making small side projects, "mostly for fun", exploring deep house and trance genres, which led him to discover ambient music and the realm of vaporwave and dreampunk. William was able to evolve from producing sample-based slushwave in a year to going sample-free
