Formed in Portland, OR in the late 1990's, Desert City Soundtrack [Matt Carillo (guitars, vocals), Cory Gray (keys, vocals, trumpet), and Brian Wright (drums)]played a detached style of indie rock that was similar to Built to Spill, Sebadoh, and a variety of other artists pushing the envelope within the realm of indie rock in the new millennium. They issued a few 7" recordings before signing to Deep Elm and releasing Contents of Distraction in 2002.
