
Derek Warfield (born 15 September 1943) is an Irish singer, songwriter, historian, and a founding member of the musical group, The Wolfe Tones. Warfield was born the eldest of four in Inchicore, Dublin in 1943 and educated at Synge Street CBS. He was apprenticed as a tailor until becoming a folk musician. A singer, songwriter, mandolin player and a founding member of The Wolfe Tones, he has been performing with the band for over 37 years. He has written and recorded over 60 songs and ballads.
