Dennis Kolen komt uit Rotterdam. Op jonge leeftijd begint hij gitaar en piano te spelen en liedjes te schrijven. In 1996 richt Dennis met zijn middelbare schoolvriend Wietse Zeedijk de band WYATT op. WYATT speelt in de lokale zalen en clubs en maakt verscheidene demo's. In 2001 tekent Wyatt bij het Indie-label "Edel-records".
