Dead Pixels. Five black spots on the bright screen of the city. A new band from very diverse backgrounds including Egypt, France, Denmark and the UK. Enigmatic lead singer, Danish Lone Blomhoj, is something of a young Bjork; beguiling and charming, her esoteric voice is one moment soft and the next minute escalating into full throttle octave-hopping. They give pop a darker, sexier new sensibility, admirably avoiding the usual sonic pigeonholes and playing music like its all that matters.
