The female duo De Alpenzusjes are from Limburg in the Netherlands. Because of Limburg's proximity to Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, the music has a German Schlager resonance to it. De Alpenzusjes sing songs in that style, part original and part covers from German Schlagers or German Volksmusik. They begun their career in 1980, paused and then reformed in 2005 to make a comeback with 'De Tyroler Baby Sitter Song' and 'Sneeuwwals Uit Mijn Dorpje' .
