David Gerard is a musician and composer, originally from New York City. He has been recording for the past 28 years, and has performed in the United States, as well as overseas. He considers himself an "ambient minimalist" - his music is equally informed by such legends as Klaus Schulze and Steve Roach as it is by Steve Reich and John Cage. His first electronic outing, "A Piece of the Desert" was performed back in the 80's at the legendary venue, The Knitting Factory.
