"DATAStream is the brainchild of Martyn Stonehouse, a composer and sound designer. The company was set up in 1986 in Derbyshire (UK) following research by Martyn into audio manipulation technology and portal transfer systems. They had some early success developing new audio formats (such as the ‘CompuSTORE’) that were far more advanced than the compact discs and tape based systems of the age although most were deemed too unstable for domestic use"
