The "Conjunto Académico João Paulo" was arguably the most famous of the academic musical groups that sprouted in the Portuguese music scene of the early 60s. Hailed as a major influence in the early rock-pop artists of Portugal, they were made famous by originals such as "O Louco", "Hully Gully do Montanhês" or "Kilimandjaro" and countless covers of international hits. Formed in the island of Madeira by students of the Jaime Moniz high-school
