Colotyphus is a Ukrainian atmospheric black metal band from Rivne (with some sources noting later ties to Lviv), channeling the windswept melancholy and resilient spirit of their homeland into swirling, immersive soundscapes that blend raw aggression with evocative melodies and keyboard-driven depth. Formed amid the geopolitical turmoil of 2014-2015, the project began as a one-man outlet for founder Gennady Kovrizhnykh (Monolith) before evolving into a full band
