About Charles Dieupart
Charles [Francis] Dieupart was a French Baroque composer (1670-1740). His recorder compositions from 1705 and 1717 were rediscovered in 1965. His works for recorder influenced J.S. Bach and were arranged for ensemble by Dieupart himself from the harpsichord version. The Suite in F major by Dieupart, is a seven-movement suite in the formal French style, with the usual movements - allemande, sarabande, gigue, etc. It is a brief work, with almost all of the movements less than two minutes long.
