Celia and the Mutations consisted of Celia Collin on lead vocals, and the backing band known as The Mutations. The Mutations were in fact The Stranglers. Celia was discovered by the manager of The Stranglers, Dai Davis who set up the already formed Stranglers as backing vocals on Celia's first Single - a cover of Mony Mony. Despite initial enthusiasm for this track, her second single flopped, and so Celia and The Mutations remain a one-hit-wonder band.
