About Cautionary Guides
David Mills and Nathan Brenville spend a lot of time talking to each other about music but something always got in the way of a fully realised collaboration until this project came along. The motivation behind it stems from various unusual sources: an abandoned book pitch for a history of the Wirral’s music scenes post-Merseybeat, births, deaths, and learning to drive. These factors provided the inspiration music at once personal and abstract: an existential road trip through their formative years
