Carlton and the Shoes were a Jamaican vocal group in the late 1960s, as rocksteady gradually became reggae. The group had several Studio One recorded hits in Jamaica, most notably "Love me Forever" in 1968. Carlton and The Shoes are led by Carlton Manning (oldest brother of the 3 Mannings - Carlton, Donald, and Linford - of The Abyssinians [Satta Massagana], and are still active in 2008, most notably in Japan and Jamaica.
