About CARLOS TOSHIKI and OMEGA TRIBE
Carlos Toshiki and Omega Tribe were a Japanese pop band during the 80s and early 90s. They started as 1986 OMEGA TRIBE and rebranded in 1988. The lead singer, Carlos Toshiki, was a replacement for Kiyotaka Sugiyama, who led the Omega Tribe in the late 70s and early 80s. The Omega Tribe members, Toshitsugu Nishihara, Akira Kurokawa, and Shinji Takashima remained throughout the life of the band, except Kurokawa, who left in 1988. In 1988, Joey McCoy, an African-American, joined the band and performed lead vocals for a few songs.
