About Burlakat

Burlakat (a Karelian word that means "vagabonds" ) was founded at the Central Karelian Community College in the autumn of 1993. A speciality of the group is the revival of songs from eastern Karelia, sung in Karelian, in unconventional arrangements. Members: Sirkka Kosonen - vocals, 10-string kantele Johanna Koukkunen - vocals, 10-string kantele Jukka Kyllönen - percussions, guitar Paulina Lerche - violin, vocals Vesa-Pekka Pisto - bass Lasse Eronen - accordeon
