Broken Radio started out as a solo project by German singer songwriter Klaus Patzak. The story goes back to 1991 when Klaus recorded a song called "Rain", which was released on the critically acclaimed lo-fi compilation "Hausmusik". Klaus' main band in the nineties was a folk-rock group named Borrowed Tunes. They recorded two full length albums and a six song EP while touring Texas in 1997. In the band’s long process of breaking up Klaus was looking for new ways to play and record his music and so he started experimenting with computers.
