Brent Dowe was lead singer and songwriter for the The Melodians, from their formation in the 1960's until his death (the band itself only sporadic recordings and appearances after the 1970's), He is responsible for their most well-known recording "Rivers of Babylon", featured on the soundtrack album for "The Harder They Come".
