Bernhard Anselm Weber (born 17th or 18th April 1764 in Mannheim; died 23. March 1821 in Berlin) was a German composer and music director. Weber studied in Munich with Georg Joseph Vogler and received a first position as a theater bandmaster in Hanover in 1787 with the troupe of Gustav Friedrich Wilhelm Großmann. In 1792 he went to Berlin, where he worked until his death. At the royal stages there - both the opera house and the National Theater - he was first made known by his rehearsals of the operas of Gluck
