Belô Velloso, (Santo Amaro, Bahia, 19 August 1971) is a Brazilian MPB singer and composer of several albums. She has been recognized by the New York Times. Belô had been immersed in musical talent at an early age. Her mother, Mabel Velloso, is a noted composer and a writer of several books. Her uncle, Caetano Velloso, is regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of Brazil. Belô is also the niece of the singer Maria Bethânia, another of the nation's music icons. And her grandmother, Dona Canô, is considered a gifted singer.
