About Bela
There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Bela was formed in late 1997 when guitarist/singer-songwriter Jeff Hogan got tired of his "guitar-rock" band Cultural Exhaust, and began to write in a more moody and melancholy style. Soon enough he was in the studio calling upon his friend, and former Rasputina cellist Julia Kent to add her stylings to his new track. The song, "Dark Shadows" came to life. Inspired by one of his favorite childhood shows, Jeff called thereminist Rob Schwimmer to add his skills to the mix.
