About Beatsystem
DerekPierce(see last.fm page DerekPierce ) came to Bath in 1978, having moved from Cheltenham where he'd DJ'ed in various clubs and locations in the area. Soon he started DJ'ing again, this time at the legendary Moles Club where he became full-time resident jock. In 1983 he joined what is now Bath Spa University College as music technician. Beatsystem was in 1985 to play systems music in rock venues and clubs. It consisted of various members of staff and students from his place of work and proved an interesting and rewarding experience.
