About Barbarito Diez
( Bolondrón, Cuba, December 4, 1909; La Habana, Cuba, May 6, 1995) Cuban singer of romantic pop music, such as Danzon and Bolero. Possessor of a voice, described by some as "unusually beautiful" is an icon in the musical evocation of romantic Havana 1930. Because of his unique style of singing danzón, Barbarito Diez was given the title "La Voz de Oro del Danzon. " (Golden Voice of Danzon). He spent his childhood in Central Manatí and in the late 1920's he moved to Havana to become part of Graciano Gomez' musical group.
