There is more than one artist with the name Banton: 1. Banton is the name for Costa Rican dancehall and reggae artist Herman Davis Davis (b. 1976, Limón), who is one half of the duo Banton & Ghetto. He's also known for songs such as Oficial de transito and Choriceros. 2. Jamal Banton is a British house music producer/DJ hailing from London. He had a release on Funk Butcher's Houseology under the name Hardhouse Banton in 2012, but dropped "Hardhouse" for his follow-up release on the same label in June 2013.
