About Aygul Ulkenbaeva
Aigul Ulkenbaeva is a Kazakh performer on the dombra, a two-stringed, long-necked lute. Originally from Atyrau, in the west of Kazakhstan, an area with a strong tradition of instrumental music, Aigul began learning the dombra at the age of five and gave her first concerts when she was seven. She now teaches at the Conservatory in Almaty.
