About Aurra
Aurra was a 1980s soul group formed from Slave by Steve Washington. At the time of what many consider their biggest success-- with hits like Make Up Your Mind and Checking You Out-- the group was comprised of Washington, Curt Jones, Starleana Young and Phil Field. The band started off in 1980 signing to Dream Records and then Salsoul Records. A deal with Virgin offshoot Ten Records gave them success with songs such as the 1986 UK singles chart hit You and Me Tonight.
